Loose Leaf Luxury Single Origin Tea

A distinctive 'muscatel' flavour, with hints of blackcurrants create an almost wine like taste. Often compared to the taste and fragrance of Muscat grape.

This tea is a second-flush TGFOP1 Darjeeling that was named in the 1930's after the beloved daughter of the tea garden's proprietor. The garden is planted with Chinese type 'Thea sinensis' and is one of the oldest and most popular Darjeeling estates in the world. The slow growth of these plants in the cool altitudes of the Himalayas forms the basis for this high-grade tea. The end product is sparkling and fully aromatic with an amber-coloured cup and spicy, complex bouquet.

The distinctive flavour of Darjeeling arises from an unusual combination of high mountains, steep terrain, well drained soil and misty swirling clouds. Add the extreme cold in the winter and intense heat in the summer harvest and the end result is the exquisite muscatel character and flowery aroma.

Margaret's Hope makes a wonderful afternoon tea - great with scones and raspberry preserve!
