Monte Sion Estate has been a family owned coffee farm since 1907 and is committed to producing highest quality, shade grown coffee. In the shade, coffee cherries grow slightly slower, perfectly ripening, which enhances their natural sweetness. Monte Sion Estate is now moving to achieve it's fully organic certification after years of investing in sustainable agricultural methods.

Located in the Cordillera de Apaneca mountain range between 1,250-1,400masl, farmers use their land to also protect and provide refuge for many species of migratory birds that pass through the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. A research study done by Rainforest Alliance between the years 2008 and 2010 in Monte Sion Estate farm confirmed that 37% of the birds in the farm were migrant birds that would not be able to reach their destination if there was no forest in that area. 

Monte Sion Estate takes an active role in the progress of the communities where their farms reside. Through its nonprofit organisation named Fundación MonteSión Nuevo Amanecer it has developed a program designed to provide proper medical and health care, education, housing, clothing and nutrition to its workers and their families.

This unique coffee has rich and sweet notes of a full bodied wine, soft peach acidity and candy-like hints at the back of the palate, with a persistent sweet finish which is enhanced after cooling. A fabulously rich and sweet espresso, or excellent as a filter brew which can be enjoyed at any time of day.
